History

From Coachbuilder to Coatings Manufacturer

Founded by Charles Simpson in the 1950’s, originally operating on our current site as a car repair bodyshop, the company flourished going on to become one of the Midlands largest coach builders.

Charles continued to diversify the business into other related sectors, opening a new venture supplying the Auto Refinish Aftermarket with paint and bodyshop products trading as TRI Colour Centres.

In the late 1990’s, paint manufacturer consolidation lead to a unique opportunity for TRI to invest in developing a toll manufacturing business, SARIS Coatings, supplying automotive car manufacturing in the UK with specialist small batch coatings to exacting standards.

Our toll manufacturing business has gone from strength to strength earning the trust of our customers and building a reputation for fast turnaround and colour accuracy.

Over recent years we have continued to built on this success and expertise in colour, our customer base is diverse and ranges from multinationals to small businesses in six key sectors -

SARIS have continued to re-invest in our manufacturing facilities. Our Burton–on-Trent manufacturing site is fully equipped and can produce batches from
1 Litre up to 1000 Litres, all mixed under strict quality control and ISO:9001:2015 certified.
